The review may include checking:

  • CUSIP identifiers and security descriptions.
  • Issuer names and titles of classes.
  • Reportable securities against the SEC’s Official List of Section 13(f) Securities.
  • Share amounts, market values, and other required information.

Form 13F Filing Deadlines

Institutional investment managers that meet the applicable $100 million reporting threshold must generally file Form 13F within 45 days after the end of the calendar year in which the threshold is met, followed by reports for the first three calendar quarters of the subsequent year.

The standard reporting deadlines are generally February 14, May 15, August 14, and November 14, subject to adjustments when a deadline falls on a weekend or federal holiday.

For example, the SEC’s published schedule sets November 16, 2026, as the deadline for the third-quarter 2026 report and February 16, 2027, as the deadline for the fourth-quarter 2026 report.

Managers should verify the applicable deadline for each reporting period and allow sufficient time to prepare and submit their reports.
