How to Enroll in EDGAR Next for Existing SEC Filers

Now is the time to enroll in EDGAR Next!

The SEC’s new EDGAR platform, EDGAR Next is now live. All current/existing SEC filers must enroll in the new system prior to September 12, 2025.

If you don’t enroll during the enrollment window, you will need to reapply for EDGAR access with a signed and notarized Form ID application.

If you’d like us to handle this for you, we’re here to help. We’ll be glad to take care of the enrollment for you, or help to guide you through the steps.

Entity (Company) Filers:

1. 1. Locate the entity’s EDGAR codes – Passphrase, CIK, and CCC.  If you are unable to locate them, please contact us, and we can help you locate or update them.
   2. Select two Account Administrators (a single-member entity needs only one). An Account Administrator must be a person closely associated with the entity, such as an employee or managing member. He/she serves as the entity’s point of contact for the SEC.  We can be the second Account Administrator so that we can help manage your codes for you.
   3. Each Account Administrator must set up a Login.gov account if they don’t have one already. They will need an email address to serve as a Login ID and a mobile phone for two-factor authentication.
   4. We’ll then transition the entity to EDGAR Next.
   5. Once we’ve transitioned the entity, the Account Administrators will receive emails from the SEC asking them to log in to the EDGAR Next Dashboard using their Login.gov credentials. We’ll walk you through those steps if needed.
   6. A filing agent should be delegated before making SEC filings, which Colonial can handle for you once the invitation from the administrators is accepted.

Individual Filers:

1. 1. Locate your EDGAR codes – Passphrase, CIK, and CCC.  If you are unable to locate them, please contact us and we can help you locate or update them.
   2. Set up your Login.gov account if you don’t have one already. You’ll need an email address (which will be visible on the EDGAR Next dashboard) to serve as Login ID, and a mobile phone for two-factor authentication.  The email address will also be used when enrolling an Account Administrator.
   3. We’ll then transition you to EDGAR Next.
   4. Once we’ve transitioned you, you’ll receive an email from the SEC asking you to log in to the EDGAR Next Dashboard using your Login.gov credentials. We’ll walk you through those steps if needed.
