How Do You Get a Form ID?
If you need to have access to the EDGAR system, you must have a Form ID. You can complete the form online through the EDGAR File Management Website. This form is called the Uniform Application for Access Codes, or Form ID. In the past, this could be completed using a physical sheet of paper, but that is no longer accepted.
In addition, if you are requesting access to EDGAR, you need to have a formal Form ID application signed by an authorized party and notarized. That has to be uploaded to the EDGAR system for your Form ID system to be accepted.

What SEC Filing Codes Will You Receive?

- CIK Confirmation Code: The CCC is eight characters, and you include it when you submit your filings. This specifies that you are authorized to submit your files.
- Password: You will also have a password that you can use to log in to the SEC website.
